Currently Wal basses are only available to order direct from our workshop here at Electric Wood in the U.K. We are able to ship worldwide, and offer a fully insured and trusted shipping option. Once you have an idea of the model and specification you would like (or if you need any help in deciding), just send us an email. We’re always happy to answer any questions you should have, and can also collate an accurate price for your desired specification, as well as quoting for shipping if required.
Our base prices would include a choice of standard facings (wenge, American walnut, ash, lacewood), a satin finish, chrome hardware and a Wal branded hard case. Fingerboards are Indian rosewood for fretted, and ebony for fretless necks as standard.
We also offer an array of non-standard/custom options at an upcharge. These include: specially sourced and more highly figured facings, gloss finishes, burst/tinted finishes, gold or black hardware, block fingerboard inlays, matching headstock veneers and extender (‘drop D’) tuners. These are just a selection of the many options available. We are happy to try and accommodate any specific custom option requests – please just ask.

Payments are normally made in three instalments: a non-refundable deposit on placing an order, another payment when the neck is in process (approximately 6-9 months), and the balance to be paid before dispatch, or on collection.
Funds can be sent through either bank transfer or PayPal. On receipt of your deposit we’ll email you a spec. sheet with details of your order and payment.
Please note: for non-UK orders any shipping and import taxes/duties would be your responsibility (please contact your local customs department to find out import charges).
The total build/delivery time is dependent on your final specification, and is currently estimated at up to 36 months, from receipt of deposit. However, this does fluctuate, and we’re always working to reduce this time.
