Wal basses are only available to order direct from our workshop at Electric Wood in England. We are able to ship worldwide and offer a fully insured and trusted shipping option. Once you have an idea of the model and specification you would like (or if you need any help in deciding), just send us an email. We’re always happy to answer any questions you have.
Please note that the demand for our basses continues to exceed our production capacity and our delivery time has now stretched to three years. If you wish to secure a place on our order list, you are welcome to do so without specifying your order requirements. We will give you an approximate delivery date and ask you to pay a deposit of £500. However, we cannot commit to firm prices that far in advance but we will give you an indicative price range (current prices start from £6,650). We will contact you when your delivery time has reduced to two years and quote you a price for whatever configuration of Wal you then decide to specify. If you wish to cancel your order at that time we will refund your deposit in full. If you confirm your order, we will ask for a further deposit of £1,500. When the neck is in process, usually 6 to 9 months before completion, we will ask for a further deposit, with the balance of the price being payable before delivery. For non-UK orders you may be liable to import duties/taxes and additional shipping and insurance charges.
Stock basses may become available from time to time and we can contact you should an instrument become available.
We offer a choice of standard facings (wenge, American walnut, ash, lacewood), a satin finish, chrome hardware and a Wal branded hard case. Fingerboards are Indian rosewood for fretted, and ebony for fretless necks.
We also offer an array of non-standard/custom options at an additional charge. These include specially sourced and more highly figured facings, gloss finishes, burst/tinted finishes, gold or black hardware, block fingerboard inlays and matching headstock veneers. These are just a selection of the many options available. We are happy to try and accommodate any specific custom option requests – please just ask.
